NeighborWorks® Rochester will be holding a Ribbon Cutting Bike Bash to showcase the installation of four artistic bike racks and the unveiling of a new neighborhood logo for the Triangle of North Winton Village neighborhood, at the intersection of Merchants and Culver Roads. The celebration will take place from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and will feature food, live music, raffles and neighborhood groups with the assistance of Johnny’s Pub, Merchants Grill and L&M Lanes. Both the bike racks and the logo production are part of the organization’s Healthy Blocks Neighborhood Initiative and are part of an ongoing collaborative effort with residents and merchants of the neighborhood and the City of Rochester.
As part of the efforts to boost the neighborhood’s unique image, the group chose two artists from two local organizations – Metal Some Art and CyrCraft Customs – to design and install four bike racks at key locations. The bike racks will not only create bike parking where there currently is none, but will also improve access to the businesses located at the apex of the Triangle neighborhood and enhance key neighborhood gateways. The artists were Clay Lieberman and Matty Soanes of MetalSome Art, and Jesse Hughson, of CyrCraft Customs. The racks were recently installed by the City of Rochester in four strategic locations in the business district area of Culver and Merchants Roads.
The event is open to the public and will be held at 1382 Culver Rd, in the parking lot between Johnny’s Pub, L&M Lanes and Merchants Grill. Cyclists attending the event have the opportunity to receive discounts from participating merchants in the area as well via an Instagram contest. Visit the facebook.com/TriangleofNWV.
