Join Head of the Genesee Honorary Chair and special guest, Arshay Cooper at The Head of Genesee Regatta. Arshay was a member of the first all-African American high school rowing team and has gone on to become a coach and mentor for hundreds of inner-city youth. he will be signing copies of his book, “Suga Water” which is a motivational memoir of his experiences. The Regatta will take place at the Genesee Waterways Center, 149 Elmwood Avenue (near the Genesee Valley Park Sports Complex). This two-day event is one of New York State’s premier rowing regattas and is expected to draw more than 350 racing entries. Viewing on the foot bridge over the Genesee River and along the east river bank is ideal for spectators.
